Programme
Disability Rehabilitation & Developmental Support
Rehabilitation-focused care that helps children build functional abilities at their own pace.
The need
Many children with disabilities in rural Kenya have limited access to consistent rehabilitation, which can restrict their development and participation in daily life.
Who it supports
Children with disabilities supported by KindCare across Kajiado, Kiambu and Murang'a, including boarders at the Ngamba facility.
What it involves
- Regular rehabilitation activities
- Exercises supporting movement and posture
- Daily routines that encourage participation
- Attentive, dignified everyday care
How support may help
Consistent support can help a child strengthen abilities and take part more fully in family and community life. Every child's journey is different.
Monitoring progress
Caregivers observe and record each child's progress over time. A structured progress-reporting framework is being formalised.
